So Christchurch Spotlight had a sign up the other day for a make and take with Amy Tan, founder of Amy Tangerine. To most people that name will probably mean nothing but to quite a few scrapbookers it was a pretty exciting event. She is one of American Crafts designers and I have some of her papers ready to make an album for our holiday in Cairns (yikes that was in 2010) coz it is lovely and bright and very cheerful. So I was interested to see what she had to show us and went along. We made a card and two tags with items from her new range On the Go:
I'm very excited to see that there is going to be an Encraftment Market on Queens Birthday weekend as I missed the Christmas one. Even more exciting is that there is a theme this time...a British theme. This got my mind racing with thoughts of high tea with little fruit tarts and sandwiches and asparugus rolls, strawberries and cream and tea cups and doilies....ohh so delightful. So I am going to be brave and put an application form in to have a stall. This is a pretty big commitment as it is only six weeks away so will have a lot of felt food crafting if we get a spot but it just makes me excited thinking about it!
Here is an example of the sort of food that we will have there.
My Mum was supposed to be coming for a week long visit, bringing my Nanny with her, and I was really looking forward to this as I had a huge list of things I would get done while she was here. Mum was retiring the day before she was coming so it was pretty much all excitement, and Liam dictated this email to me:
I'm not sure what the shoes and socks are all about but I know the zoo is his playmobil zoo which he got for his birthday and Mormor was there to help open. He also got a meercats set when Rose was born, and I have some photos of him and Mum playing with them. Unfortunately Mum couldn't come after all as Dad got sick so I thought since they have missed out on a playing session I would scrap the photos from October and send the page back with my Nanny.
ScrappinPatch have a challenge for April so I thought perfect, I will try my hand at a challenge for the first time and get this page done :-) Here is the sketch...wish me luck!
And here is my page! The papers are Kasiercraft 'Jungle Bugs' and Little Yellow Bicycle 'Baby Safari'. Other elements include Kaisercraft stamps, American Craft thickers, ink, stitching and some random stickers I got from a shop many years ago in Kalgoorlie!
I'm Natalia, co-owner of Bali Suga Crafts, mother of two kids and wife of another! I started scrapbooking when I lived in Australia in the back of beyond and made the mistake of going into the local post office....aka the shop I spent the most money in (not that there was a lot to choose from). There I discovered scrapbooking supplies as well as a weekly class on a Tuesday night and haven't looked back since then!
