It is quite strange having someone else choosing papers and being limited to
what is available, but at the same time because it is tricky, it really did feel
like a challenge and I was going away for a week the day after we got our kit so I knew I would be even more limited with what I had on hand. The paper we were given was from My Minds Eye 'Unforgettable' range, as well as WOW birdcage with 3 birds, some flowers, a resin flower and some white
I decided that I really wanted to do a photo of me as I feel like I am always scrapping other people. I chose a photo of me and Liam in Brisbane when he had his first ever fluffy as I thought the papers and embelishments would really suit a cafe theme.
I decided to use gold paint on the edges of my photo to frame it and continued this gold accent on the birdcage and bird, the pearl and the resin flower. I certainly would not have picked gold with these papers but I really liked it, and it tied in nicely with the cafe feel. The resin flower also had some pink ink added to tie in with the gorgeous pink in the papers.
Originally I was planning to 'hang' the birdcage from the top corner but it just looked strange, funny how something can seem right until it is put on! To make it a little more 3D, the middle has been rounded out so it sticks out from the page.
My one item I used from my stash were some American Craft foam thickers that were bright pink, but nothing a little ink can't tone down. I was originally going to use fluffy stickers with the title 'Fluffy' but it just looked babyish, and didn't feel quite right...I felt such a sense of relief when I changed both the title and letters!
With almost every page, there has to be something accidental that happens, and on this page, when I was distressing the cardstock, I got a little carried away....but after adding a little bit of patterned paper underneath, I decided it was a very good accident!
