On the way home, I imagined doing a photo of me in Paris or somewhere in France back in 2004 when I was on there on my OE and met up with my folks. However, when I looked through my photos I was horrified to find no photos of me in Paris and worse...not a one of me in France at all. Not one!! So I emailed my parents but alas, they also did not have a photo of me either. How can this be...I must have been too busy taking photos of the funny French roundabouts :-( Let me say that this is one of the biggest disappointments I have had since I have started scrapbooking and made me realise how much life has changed since ten years ago....make sure you get in photos people because that is what others really want to see!!
Anyway, I decided that I could at least scrap a photo of one of the amazing landmarks in Paris...the Eiffel Tower.
I loved the Mongolfiere paper with the grid lines so decided this would be the feature with Mots D'Amour as an accent on the page. I thought the grid lines would look great with my photo. After putting everything together I then decided I needed a contrast about the edge so trimmed my page and added a strip around two edges.
these on the page and don't they look cute...not really that obvious either. I really wanted to add some bling but instead of rhinestones I went for the pearls even though my first instinct was rhinestones! Three flowers later I thought I was done but then found a metal embellishment I got from The Paper Teapot a while ago and HAD to add it to my page, I thought it really highlighted the metal feel of the photo.
So it was quite a simple page with no fancy techniques but I was quite pleased with it and how it made my photo stand out. I then decided to do a matching pocket page to hold some more photos of Paris. One day soon, I will do a couple more pages of Paris and think about the rest of France.
