The photo in the layout is of my little girl sleeping with chocolate on her face, so cute despite the mess! I wanted to keep the page looking a little dreamy so chose 'Moments Collected' with the pink ombre effect for my background paper. I trimmed 'Sweet Story' to matt my photo and for an accent on one of the squares. I cut squares from 'Chapters', 'Memoir', and 'Years' and used a cut apart from 'Full Heart' as my final square and decided that this would be my title as well.
I've been trying to challenge myself to scrap 'outside the square' which for me is minimal embellishments so for this layout I thought I would try a sketch based on a layout I saw online. I quite liked the way it resembled a PL page with separate 'layouts' on the page. The layout I had seen was minimally embellished and very flat and my intention was to keep it simple but I just CAN'T resist adding elements so little bits kept sneaking out when I wasn't looking...but that is the fun thing about a sketch, it's all about the interpretation. To balance the page I added some strips along the top left and bottom right and used the banner from the chipboard and a flower from the ephemera pack up the top and the gorgeous heart/book from the chipboard down the bottom right. I love how the book pages make a heart...how cute! A few flowers were added about the title and some more chipboard pieces along with the journaling and the page was complete. Nowhere near as flat as the original page I had seen though!

AuthorI'm Natalia, co-owner of Bali Suga Crafts, mother of two kids and wife of another! I started scrapbooking when I lived in Australia in the back of beyond and made the mistake of going into the local post office....aka the shop I spent the most money in (not that there was a lot to choose from). There I discovered scrapbooking supplies as well as a weekly class on a Tuesday night and haven't looked back since then! ![]() Archives
