So what is pocket scrapbooking? It's basically using pockets on a scrapbook page, pre-cut cards and photos to quickly put together a photo page. No scissors or glue required! Becky Higgins is the person behind Project Life but there are heaps of other brands too, and it seems to be getting more popular. See Becky Higgins blog here for some information about the basics (and to look at the gorgeous paper).
I joined a Facebook group and already have learnt a lot about the different styles and ways of working. Some people only work with one kit for the year so that their album is coordinated throughout, whereas others use a variety of paper including papers from their stash cut to size. Some people use no embellishments at all, just photos, paper and journaling, whereas others add little items and stickers to their pages. Some people are crazy enough to do a photo a day (yikes) whereas others just print out their photos and put into the album fitting things around how many there are.
So what to do! Well I am going to have a mixture of papers and probably won't be able to resist adding embellishments to the page. I like the idea of being able to go back if I come across something 'perfect' for a photo. I'm also planning on doing a double spread per month but possibly it might be more like two spreads, or it might just be printing out the photos and making it fit!
I am now the proud owner of some pocket pages and have some cards coming, as well as some Simple Stories Snap Say Cheese leftovers from when I created a page (pages?) for The Paper Teapot which I am quite looking forward to cutting up and using since I love that collection so much! However, I do need to print some photos and I have decided that I will do two months each month, the month from a year ago and the previous month so by the end of the year I SHOULD have two years completed...fingers crossed.
Wish me luck on my pocket scrapbooking journey!
